Some dogs in animal shelters have a way of capturing your heart without making a sound, and Mommas is certainly one of them.
She doesn’t bark or beg for attention, preferring instead to sit quietly in her enclosure, silently hoping someone will notice her.
Mommas, a three-year-old Shepherd mix, has spent more than 300 days exemplifying patience and kindness.
Her calm demeanor and gentle nature are showcased in a touching video from a Washington shelter, breaking the hearts of many viewers.

Julie Saraceno, who was encouraged by friends and former caregivers of Mommas, recently shared a heartfelt video of the sweet dog in her kennel.
Upon visiting the Benton Franklin Humane Society and seeing Mommas waiting quietly, Saraceno felt compelled to tell her story through social media.
In the now-popular Instagram post, the text poignantly states that Mommas is “patiently waiting for someone to see how amazing she is and take her home.”
Currently, she is available for adoption at the Benton Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick, Washington.

Before joining the Benton Franklin Humane Society, Mommas was housed at the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter in Pasco, Washington, with her nine puppies.
While each of her pups found a home, Mommas was unfortunately left behind, overlooked by those seeking to adopt.
Thankfully, her time at the Benton Franklin Humane Society offers her a new opportunity for visibility. Despite being in the shelter for over 300 days, which has weighed on her spirit, the team at BFHS remains hopeful for Mommas’ future.
Mommas is not just potty-trained; she flourishes when given the chance to be outside, though the noisy shelter environment is challenging for such a gentle soul.

Out of boredom, she has been known to chew on bedding and toys, but shelter staff are confident this will change with a stable and enriching home environment.
Described as quirky, smart, and eager to please in her Petfinder profile, Mommas loves squeaky toys and ear scratches.
She thrives on mental stimulation and would fit perfectly with an active family who can provide her with the routine and structure she craves.
Potential adopters should see Mommas not just as another shelter dog but as the playful and loving companion she is at heart. After all she has endured, Mommas deserves the happiness and family she has patiently been waiting for.
