At an adoption center, a senior cat named Tassy was on a quest for affection. Fortunately, a new family was ready to offer her a permanent home filled with warmth and care.
Eighteen-year-old Tassy found her way to Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions after being surrendered. Despite initial nerves, Tassy was always gentle in nature.
According to Kimberly Wade from Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions, Tassy had spent nine years living with two lively dogs in her previous home.

Over time, those playful pups became too much for Tassy’s quiet demeanor, leading her to shy away from them.
Tassy, with her striking one amber and one yellow eye, needed more than the shelter environment could provide, even a cozy, cage-free one like Homeward Bound.
Though she adapted to sharing space with other cats, she longed for human interaction. Visitors often found her chirping at the door when it was time to eat, a testament to her affectionate nature.

Throughout her stay, Tassy charmed staff and volunteers with her endless purring and love for snuggles, despite occasionally wearing a serious expression.
Recognizing the senior cat’s urgency for a loving home, the adoption team determined that finding her a family was paramount. They understood time was of the essence; Tassy needed her “hero.”
Initially, a social media post did not garner much interest, but a follow-up story captured the hearts of many online, generating significant engagement. Among the responses was Sofia’s, who immediately felt drawn to Tassy.

On the day of the post, Sofia contacted the shelter, eager to meet the senior feline. With her daughter and a cat carrier in tow, Sofia made her way to the center, ready to welcome Tassy into their lives.
The moment Tassy met Sofia and her daughter, she was instantly affectionate, purring joyfully and seeking cuddles. Tassy’s charm won them over, and she left with her new family, stepping into a new chapter filled with love.
“We are so glad it worked out because sweet senior Tassy deserved it,” shared Kimberly Wade.

Now comfortably settled into her new home, Tassy enjoys her days lounging in cozy spots. Her favorite pastime includes relaxing in a little cat house, gazing out the window and sunbathing.
Surrounded by a family who showers her with affection, Tassy has found her perfect paradise. As Sofia happily shared on Facebook, “She is doing amazing. The most loving lil turtle dove.”
