In East Texas, a heart-wrenching story took shape when a young dog was found in dire condition after being tossed from a car. The dog’s leg was in a horrific state, infested with maggots, and had detached from her body.
This shocking act of animal cruelty left the rescuers speechless and heartbroken.
The dog, affectionately named Glory, was immediately taken to a veterinarian where she received much-needed care. With her condition stabilized, Glory was given a chance to rest and recuperate.
Although she had suffered significant muscle loss and her feet and toes were deformed, there was a glimmer of hope as she began to walk and enjoy the outdoors once again.
Glory was recently moved from the vet to a foster home, where she is focusing on regaining her strength. She is currently on medication for comfort, and a surgery has been scheduled for the following week to aid her recovery.
Her leg, severely damaged and beyond repair due to the maggots, had to be completely amputated.
The cruelty inflicted upon Glory is deeply disturbing, yet it is disappointing that those responsible will not be held accountable. Despite the adversity, there is a silver lining as Glory survived and found safety.
The heartfelt response from those who shared her story and contributed donations is a testament to human kindness, resulting in another precious life being saved.
