Tia and her team from Pitbulls & Parolees recently stepped in to assist an animal shelter overwhelmed with rescued fighting dogs. Their mission is to rehabilitate these dogs and prepare them for adoption.

The shelter had taken in 47 dogs following a raid on a criminal fighting ring, leaving them in dire conditions. Many of these dogs were so frail that they struggled to walk.

Tia and her team visited the shelter to help by taking in six of the dogs. As they toured the facility, they observed numerous dogs bearing scars from their past, yet all were eager to interact with people.

After careful consideration, the shelter staff were thrilled to see the dogs reacting positively and enjoying their newfound freedom.

Local authorities remain vigilant to prevent any potential threats from those involved in the fighting ring. The process of rescuing and rehabilitating these dogs can be perilous.

Tia aims to rehabilitate these dogs and find them loving homes. To avoid overstimulation and manage potential aggression, the dogs are housed in specialized kennels.
