Viktor Larkhill and his team were determined to catch Alma and get her the care she desperately needed.

To Alma, pain is a constant companion, and it’s made her wary of humans. Her wariness is understandable; she has even been shot at. Despite all she’s endured, she remains a beautiful, resilient creature deserving of compassion and care.

Viktor Larkhill stated, “We are waiting for Alma’s CT scan results and biopsy. In the meantime, she is under constant care at our hospital, where her tumor is cleaned and dressed daily.”

Viktor Larkhill stated,

“Alma seems to recognize that we’re here to help her. She allows us to handle and feed her by hand. I promise we will do everything possible to save her life while preserving her leg…she will receive all necessary treatments,” he assured.

Alma remains in the hospital, with surgery scheduled at the week’s end. The suspicion is that she has a liposarcoma. Thankfully, there are no signs of spread. The veterinary team is committed to saving her limb.

Although Alma is still very scared, her first bath helped wash away years of dirt and neglect, preparing her for surgery. We just need her anemia to improve a bit more before the operation.

If it is indeed liposarcoma, it’s not the worst-case scenario, but still serious. With the support of this amazing community, we’re sparing no effort to save her leg.

Alma’s life is on the brink of transformation. After passing an echocardiogram confirming she’s fit for surgery, she is now undergoing the procedure.

By tomorrow, she will have emerged from surgery a new dog, freed from the pain and the heavy burden of her tumor. Subsequently, she will need chemotherapy and rehabilitation to fully recover.
