Scheduled to be euthanized due to his health issues, Noodle the dog was languishing in a Detroit shelter with no hopeful prospects for a new home. However, his fortune was about to change thanks to a compassionate individual.
Noodle, a stray suffering from a degenerative brain disease that caused him to faint and stagger, waited unnoticed and unclaimed at the shelter. His time was running out after the mandatory stray holding period, and euthanasia was planned for the following day.

That same night, Tiffany Perkins, who leads the PAWS Friend Network, found out about Noodle’s situation. Unable to rest, her thoughts stayed with him throughout the night. Her small sanctuary is dedicated to helping dogs with special needs, such as those who are paraplegic, amputees, or elderly.
Determined to give Noodle a second chance, Tiffany quickly made her way to the shelter the next morning and brought him home. In her Detroit residence, Tiffany instantly bonded with Noodle, sealing their connection.

The moment they met, Tiffany knew Noodle was meant to be part of her family. His loving and gentle nature won her heart, and he soon formed a friendship with her dog, Luke. With an understanding of his condition, Tiffany was committed to providing Noodle with the care and attention he needed. She placed him on a special diet to help him gain weight, crucial for his recovery after likely living on the streets for weeks.
Aware of how excitement affected Noodle, Tiffany created a stable and peaceful environment for him. She made her bed more accessible and arranged a couch by the window where Noodle and Luke spent hours gazing at the world outside.

“Seeing him happy and enjoying the view from his window is one of the greatest joys of my life,” Tiffany expressed.
Noodle found comfort and security snuggling with Tiffany and his canine brother, especially during rainy days. He loved his frequent walks and beach trips, where his joy shone brightly as he greeted the seaside with a beaming smile.

Describing Noodle as “the biggest, sweetest marshmallow,” Tiffany is grateful for his presence, particularly during her time of grief after losing her previous dog. “He really helped heal us through that process,” she shared. “He’s just such a big teddy bear.”
Noodle’s kindness and affection have brought unexpected healing and happiness to Tiffany’s life, proving that sometimes the most unlikely encounters lead to the most profound bonds.
