Early one morning, as Andrea drove around her tranquil farm in New York, she stumbled upon an unexpected sight: an English bulldog sitting quietly by her goats, looking perplexingly out of place. Andrea, curious and concerned, gently approached the dog, calling out, “Hey, bud. You OK?”
The dog’s arrival was a mystery, as Andrea had no idea where it came from. To solve the puzzle, she reviewed her security footage and discovered that the bulldog had first appeared at 12:37 a.m., patiently sitting on a log, as if awaiting someone. It was clear the timid pup had been left alone in unfamiliar surroundings.

Feeling a mix of compassion and bewilderment, Andrea realized the dog, whom she named Stella, had been deprived of food and water. Andrea quickly fetched some food, encouraging Stella to eat by saying, “Come on, baby. Come on.” Stella eagerly consumed the meal, underscoring just how hungry and thirsty she was.
Although Andrea’s farm was isolated and far from neighbors, suggesting the bulldog didn’t simply wander there by accident, Stella’s demeanor was affectionate and well-mannered, indicating she was likely someone’s pet. Determined to find Stella’s owners, Andrea took her to the vet to check for a microchip and spread the word through a police report and social media posts. She also contacted the local humane society, hoping to reunite Stella with her family, but no one came forward.

As weeks unfolded, Stella bonded with Andrea’s other dog, quickly becoming part of the household. Stella thrived in her new environment, delighting in simple joys like playing in the snow. Yet, the question of her origins lingered.
One day, Andrea discovered a tin bowl and a small blanket under a bush on her property. This heartbreaking clue pointed to the true story: Stella had been deliberately abandoned in the middle of the night. Recognizing this, Andrea wholeheartedly embraced Stella into her family.
Today, Stella flourishes at the farm. She accompanies Andrea daily to visit her first friends—the goats—and has secured her place in the home where she is cherished and will never be lost again.
