Manny, a gray cat with one eye, showcased his remarkable instincts by sensing danger in the early hours of the morning. Despite losing an eye in a past street scuffle, Manny has proven to be quite the resilient feline.
Adopted by Andrew five months ago, Manny woke him unusually early one morning with a persistent and unusual meow. Initially thinking Manny was simply hungry, Andrew quickly realized something more serious was amiss.

Speaking to The West Australian, Andrew recalled, “Manny sometimes wakes me up for food, but this time the urgency was different.”
Alerted by Manny’s behavior, Andrew soon noticed strange noises coming from his dining room. Armed with just a shoe for protection, he cautiously moved toward the commotion.

Much to his surprise, Andrew walked in to find an intruder standing with his back toward him, under the dining room’s light. He recounted, “I asked him, ‘What are you doing in my house?’ and he calmly walked past me and out the back door.”
As the intruder made his exit, Andrew managed to note the details of the getaway car and quickly provided this information to the police. Consequently, the suspect was soon apprehended and taken into custody.

Andrew now firmly believes that Manny’s alertness played a crucial role in thwarting a potential burglary, stating, “Who needs a guard dog when you’ve got a cat?”
