As I was preparing to return home, an alarming call disrupted my evening calm. The urgent message described a dog named Dolunay who was in critical condition, abandoned near an apartment building.
Emaciated, dirty, and with an injured leg, Dolunay’s situation was dire. Our immediate goal was to get him to Dr. Murat Hodja’s clinic in Sarköy, hoping for a miracle.
Upon arriving at the veterinary clinic, the scene was heartbreaking. Dolunay lay there, his body frail and battered from injuries nobody had anticipated.

His swollen foot suggested a possible hernia, while the bruises on his stomach spoke volumes about the abuse he had faced. Despite his dire state, Dolunay’s spirit shone through, exemplifying his incredible resilience.
Each moment was a fight for Dolunay as his body was overrun by parasitic worms that sapped his energy. Throughout the long, arduous nights, we stood by him, providing medical treatments and comfort.
His determination to survive was evident, like a small but persistent flame in the darkness.

Tragically, despite all our efforts, Dolunay’s health declined. The relentless onslaught of the worms was too much, and his delicate body could not withstand it.
In his final moments, he looked at us with a grateful gaze, his last smile a touching goodbye.

Dolunay’s passing was not just a loss of life, but a painful reminder of his unjust suffering. However, his story didn’t end with his death; it left a significant impact, evoking empathy and compassion in many.
Dolunay’s journey serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and the profound influence of kindness.
