A surprising delivery awaited a woman from a Chicago suburb when she found a box on her porch. Inside was a tiny kitten, who needed immediate care due to a serious neck injury.
Acting promptly, she treated the wound before taking the little feline to a nearby veterinary clinic.
The kitten, initially timid and reserved, was examined by veterinarian Elise Hall.
Keen to help him recover, Elise named him Porg, inspired by the big-eyed character from Star Wars, and took on the responsibility of caring for him until he could find a permanent home.
To her delight, Porg’s shy demeanor quickly transformed as he grew more playful and affectionate throughout the day. By afternoon, Elise had decided Porg was there to stay.
As time went on, Elise noticed that petting Porg would often leave marks on his sensitive skin. A thorough investigation revealed that Porg was living with a genetic condition known as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
This prompted Elise to dress him in protective clothes to safeguard his delicate skin and enhance his comfort.
“It’s been a journey to figure out how to keep his skin safe and healthy, but we’ve developed a routine that’s working well,” Elise shared with Lovemeow.
Porg also faces some eye issues due to his condition, yet steady use of eye drops has kept these problems under control.
Given their bond, it was only natural for Elise to officially bring Porg into her family. With his playful, snuggly nature and striking large eyes, Porg easily captivates everyone he meets.
