Chris, the homeowner, shared the incredible footage on Storyful, stating, “I spent 20 years in the Army and saw some pretty crazy things, but I never saw anything like that. Everyone I showed that video to has all said the same thing: ‘Wow, never seen that before.'”
The serene moment was interrupted when a second bear charged into the yard, sparking a fierce confrontation that resembled an MMA cage match.

Despite Chris’s efforts to scare the bears away with an air horn, the brawl escalated rapidly. The bears, undeterred by the noise, continued their fierce encounter while the cubs scattered.
The bears stood on their hind legs, seemingly slapping and chasing each other around the property. The intense showdown lasted about five minutes, resulting in broken flowerpots and trampled plants. Eventually, the mother bear gathered her cubs and retreated, ending the heated brawl.
The video has left viewers both shocked and amazed, with some expressing safety concerns and others marveling at the rare encounter.

Chris revealed that he initially saw only one bear and was unaware of the full extent of the altercation until he reviewed the footage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Department of Natural Resources has noted an increase in bear sightings in the area, attributing it to the population expanding further west and south.
In a related story from Farmington, Connecticut, a friendly family of bears has been visiting the same neighborhood for six years. The community welcomes the large black bear and her cubs, even sharing locals’ pools and food.

Michael Costello, a resident, shared, “She comes down every year. One mama bear and her cubs. I know it’s the same bear because she’s double-tagged. It’s one mama bear who’s raised several generations of cubs. She has four cubs this year.”
Adorable footage from Farmington shows one cub climbing onto a pool cover and paddling around before being joined by a second cub, highlighting a contrasting, more peaceful bear encounter.
