Agricultural Engineer Ibrahim Sedef faced a recurring issue with bears raiding his beehives and ruining his research.
Instead of reinforcing his defenses, he cleverly transformed the bears into honey connoisseurs to discover their favorite type.

After witnessing his hives destroyed night after night, Mr. Sedef devised an experiment. He set out several trays containing different types of honey, ranging from less expensive to the priciest, along with a tray of jam as a control. Consistently, the bears opted for the most costly honey first.

“The bear knows his palate,” Mr. Sedef remarked after observing one of these sessions. “Every time he gets to the Anzer honey [the most expensive kind] first, he doesn’t even look at the jam at all.”
