When we first encountered Ruffo, his condition was heartbreaking. Horribly mistreated, he had been struck on the head with shovels, leaving his skull dented and causing blindness.

We found him soaked and emitting a pungent odor, resting in a tree. Though extremely weak, Ruffo showed signs of resilience, leaning against my thigh, demonstrating incredible strength despite the pain he had suffered.
