On July 10th, I came across a distressing sight: a cat struggling in an old, deserted tin house. Her front paws seemed broken, and her cries were full of pain, echoing the deep distress she was experiencing.

This heart-wrenching scene was impossible to overlook, as it was clear that the cat desperately needed help (HV).

I gently approached her with some cat treats to gain her trust. She hesitated at first but eventually accepted the treats, signaling a glimmer of hope.

With care, I lifted her up and hurried to the veterinary hospital. It was painful to see her struggle with basic movements, unable to groom or comfort herself due to her injuries.

At the hospital, she was placed in a treatment cage to keep her calm and safe. The veterinarian examined her carefully. Despite her discomfort, she remained calm, perhaps understanding our intention to help.

The diagnosis revealed both her front paws had long-standing fractures, paired with kidney problems, but thankfully, there were no contagious diseases.

Surgery was necessary to heal her injuries. On July 25th, she underwent the first surgery to fix one paw. Though she cried from the pain when waking from anesthesia, her strong spirit was evident.

Within a day, she was eating normally, a hopeful sign of recovery. A few weeks later, she had the second surgery, a more complicated procedure that involved repairing ligaments and fitting a metal plate.

With both surgeries, her paws could now support her without the need to crawl on her knees.

Recovery took time, but was progressing well. I regularly cleaned her wounds and provided her with tasty meals to lift her spirits. Her steps, although awkward, became more confident with every passing day.

By the end of August, with significant recovery, she was ready to return home. Inspired by her strength, I named her Baymax.

At home, Baymax gradually got used to her surroundings. Welcomed by the other pets, she started to explore her new environment. She went from being shy to becoming a playful and affectionate kitty.

Her favorite activities included playing with her fellow pets, chasing the sun in the garden, and rolling on the floor. A month later, she transformed into a lively and healthy cat.

Though she retains a slight limp, Baymax’s transformation has been remarkable. She is no longer the suffering cat in the tin house; she has grown into a beautiful and loving feline, grateful for companionship and affection.
