After explaining the circumstances, she kindly offered to assist. Without delay, she drove us to the nearest animal hospital.
The cat resisted as we carefully placed her in a bag for the journey, her body trembling the entire way. Upon our arrival, the veterinarian immediately conducted an emergency evaluation.
The cat remained unresponsive, and a bystander speculated that she might have been poisoned. Initial tests suggested she had likely consumed rat poison. Despite the high costs of treatment, I couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her to such a fate.

Toys that once frightened her became her favorite playthings. Slowly, she let her guard down and even began seeking affection, curling up in my lap and following me around the house. Every small achievement felt like a victory.
Three months later, Lubian was a changed cat from the trembling creature I had first encountered. She had blossomed into a happy, healthy companion, her days now filled with warmth and care.
Her playful, youthful nature brought joy to my life, and she grew increasingly fond of me, always wanting to be close.
